First Aid at Work Catastrophic Bleeding

A three-day first aid at work training course that fulfils the requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Topics covered

The qualification covers knowledge such as the roles and responsibilities of the first aider, how to assess an incident and recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness. The qualification also covers first aid skills in CPR and use of an AED and assisting a casualty who is suffering from major injury and illness such as chest injuries, spinal injuries and anaphylaxis. Additionally the use of haemostatic dressings & tourniquets for the control of major haemorrhaging is also contained in this course.

Assessment method

This qualification is assessed by a practical demonstration, oral questioning and completing a multi-choice question paper.

Certification 

Students successfully completing this training will be awarded the QNUK L3 Award First aid at Work Catastrophic Bleeding, that is valid for 3-years.

Under the current guidelines it is ”strongly recommended” that first aid trained staff attend a half-day update every 12 months – before completing 2-day FAW re-qualification training at the three year point.

The cost of this course is £1000 fully inclusive, when run at your venue. This is for a group of up to 6.

The cost of this course is £1600 fully inclusive, when run at your venue. This is for a group up to 12.

The cost of this course for individuals attending our training centres is £400 per person fully inclusive.
