Emergency First Aid at Work | High Risk

A One-day Extended Emergency First Aid at Work course plus the additional subjects in dealing with Catastrophic Bleeding within the workplace.

The training meets the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 (First Aid Regulations 1981) , where it is deemed by the employer that the Emergency First Aider requires additional training in high risk environments such as those operating machinery.

Course Curriculum

This training covers the standard EFAW curriculum PLUS the additional elements of dealing with severe and catastrophic bleeding in the workplace. Students are taught the application of Haemostatic Agents, Tourniquets and Pressure Dressings to control severe bleeding within this course.

Assessment method

This training is assessed by a practical demonstration alongside oral and written questioning.

Certification 

Those completing this training will be awarded a Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 (VTQ) – High Risk certificate that is valid for 3-years. Under the current guidelines it is ”strongly recommended” that first aid trained staff attend a half-day update every 12 months – before completing their full re-qualification training at the three year point.
