Award in Safeguarding Children & Young People

Who should attend?

This qualification provides those working with children and young people the knowledge on how to recognise and respond to cases of alleged or suspected abuse. This qualification fulfills and meets the needs of the following sectors but not limited to:

  • the Designated Senior Person for child protection within an organisation/business
  • Sports coaches, Sports trainers & Outdoor instructors working with young people
  • Teachers, Tutors and Head teachers
  • Classroom assistants
  • SEN Co-ordinators
  • Any person working in educational settings who may deal with young people, Forest Schools settings for example.
  • Those involved in the transportation of children, for example bus, minibus and taxi drivers
  • Qualified nurses & Newly Qualified Nurses who work with children and young people
  • Paramedics & Newly Qualified Paramedics who work with young children
  • Event Medical Providers, such as First aiders, Event medics, Ambulance technicians and Emergency Health Care Assistants and Dental assistants for example
  • Health and social care support workers, managers and professionals in care homes

Assessment & certification

To achieve this award learners are required to complete a portfolio of evidence throughout the days training and sit a multi-choice exam paper. They must achieve a minimum of 70% to pass mark from the multi-choice paper.

The cost of this course delivery starts from £399.99 for up to 12 delegates at your UK venue. There is an additional fee of £10 per delegate attending that covers: Learner registration, training manual, portfolio workbook, examination paper and certification.
