EMERGENCY FIRST AID - Level 2
Course Duration:
16 hours total contact time
Course Description:
Persons who use the British hills and crags for pleasure will benefit from this course and may attend any of our course programme's.This course meets or exceeds the criteria laid down by the following governing bodies: MLT for (,WGL, ML, SPA, & the New Climbing Wall Award) Plus BOF, BASI, CWMA, Sportsleaders UK & many other National Sports Governing Bodies.
Course aims:
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following.
- Assess and prioritise a first aid incident in remote areas, including multiple casualties scenes( includes broken ground, water margins)
- Deal with an unconscious casualty
- Control bleeding and manage shock
- To monitor and record casualties condition
- To recognise and deal with a wide range of common injuries & illness's
- To understand how Mountain Rescue Teams, operate in the UK
- To understand how Search & Rescue Teams, operate in the UK
- To call for outside help and offer assistance
- Casualty handover to professional persons/services
- Be able to offer assistance to professional services
- To maintain first aid equipment, both for base use & off site use
 
Assessment of participant's skills takes place throughout the duration of the course. Successful students will be awarded the, 'Emergency First Aid Certificate'.This certificate is valid for 3 Years.
Non- Residential - £145 per person, includes to successful candidates a certificate, personal first aid kit & booklet.
