EMERGENCY FIRST AID - Level 1

Course outline

This course is aimed at persons who work away from their normal office or home environment, such as, company car drivers, volunteer walking leaders, arborists, lorry drivers, agricultural workers & Sole Traders who legally require some First Aid training. This course also meets the requirements for the new MLT Climbing Wall Award that has been launched in January 2008.

Course aims

Successful candidates will able to demonstrate the following:

• Assess and prioritise a first aid incident
• Summon the emergency services
• Deal with an unconscious casualty
• Control bleeding and manage shock
• To recognise and deal with a wide range of common injuries & illness's
• Maintain records

• Use and maintain first aid equipment

Successful Candidates will be awarded the ''Emergency First Aid Certificate'' which is valid for 3 years and is recognised by the HSE.
