Outdoor Instructors – First Aid Course – 16 Hours – Brecon South Wales


Who should attend this training?

Outdoor Instructors requiring to validate their National Governing Body Awards, such as: –

Course fee includes 2-nights accommodation, meals, light beverages, all training, manual to each delegate and certification that is valid for 3 years to successful candidates.

A open course delivery in the Brecon Beacons National Park. This nationally recognised 16 hour outdoor first aid training and assessment course leads to the QNUK Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid for delegates successfully completing the training. This qualification validates a range of National Governing Body Awards including all Mountain Training Awards, All British Canoe Awards, British Cycling MTB coaching Awards and the training and assessments are regulated by The Office of Qualifications and Examinations in England, the Welsh Government Regulator Qualification in Wales and the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment in Northern Ireland. Furthermore this qualification meets the IOL Band 4 statement of good practice for outdoor first aid for their registered practitioners. This award is also suitable for outdoor enthusiasts and first aid tutors seeking to expand their training CPD.

Assessment & certification

To achieve this award learners are required to complete a number of practical examinations and sit two multi-choice exam papers. Learners must achieve a minimum of 70%  pass mark from each multi-choice paper and 100% in the practical elements.

When you join us you will be enchanted by the peaceful location and immediate access to authentic outdoor training areas that includes the Llwynon Reservoir and upland areas. All these make for authentic training experiences so that you are equipped with the outdoor & remote first aid skills to validate your NGB’s. You will not be sat around the training theatre or completing your training in a city centre car park or sports playing field. Our expert tutors all hold a variety of outdoor NGB’s themselves and still participate and lead groups themselves. They also come from a variety of frontline healthcare backgrounds & exceed the minimum standards by holding advanced healthcare and advanced teaching qualifications & also exceed the minimum Continual Professional Development (CPD) requirements set by the Health & Safety Executive for first aid tutors. All training is moderated both internally & externally to ensure you receive the very best training available that meets current accepted best practices.


  • Full time students in FE and registered living in Wales are entitled to 25% discount when requested on booking this is open to registered students aged 14 plus.
  • Full time students in HE and being a member of a  University Outdoor Sports Club will receive a 25% discount when requested on booking.
