The HABC Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid has been accredited by the regulators of England, Wales and Northern Ireland and is part of  the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).  *The regulators are Ofqual in England, DCELLS in Wales and CCEA in Northern Ireland.

Qualification Overview
This qualification is aimed at those who wish to become a Activity First Aider. 

Entry Guidance
There are no prerequisites for this qualification.  It is advised that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.  
This qualification is approved for delivery to the age ranges 16-18 and 19+.
 
Qualification Structure
This qualification is made up of two mandatory units.
Learners must successfully complete the assessment  for both units to achieve the qualification. The qualification can be taken as a free standing qualification or as part of a wider programme of training.
 
Assessment & Validation
This qualification is assessed through practical and oral questioning through the duration the course by the tutor with a 15-question multiple-choice examination at the end. Successful learners must achieve a score of at least 10 out of 15. Learners must practically demonstrate the application of the correct techniques in all the First Aid areas indicated within the learning outcomes of the unit. Successful learners will also receive a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualification. This qualification lasts for a period of 3 years, after which point learners will need to resit the course.
 
Progression
Progression and further learning routes include: 
• 3-day First Aid at Work qualification 
• Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and  Automated External Defibrillation

Key Skills
This qualification provides the opportunity for learners to develop competence in key skills and produce evidence towards attaining key skills. The qualification does not ensure key skills are met as this would depend upon learners producing a portfolio of evidence and the mode of study adopted.
      

A first aid qualification that sits on the national LARA database and maybe subject to funding options for Schools, FE Colleges and Government funded work based learners attending apprenticeship programmes.

Cohort size may not exceed 12 in accordance with HSE regulation for the teaching of first aid at work purposes. 

Fees per cohort to include all training,  recognised manual,  assessment,  and certification for successful candidates at your suitable training venue.

England & Wales
£1125 for a three day consecutive delivery programme at your venue to a maximum of 12 candidates.
A typical day would run from 09.00 to 16.15 to include breaks and assessments.
